Victoria Livingstone is a multi-faceted Los Angeles based visual artist working to inspire, embolden and to "ACTUATE" others through the use of visual storytelling.
As fine artist, Victoria paints what she has coined, "Grotesque Cartoons." Her bold illustrative acrylic-ink paintings are composites of social critique, current affairs, and existential commentary. Bright color palates juxtaposed with salient black lines of thick ink on an over-sized tableau depict cautionary tales of personages lost or found.
The works are created through an unconventional use of highly pigmented acrylic inks, traditionally used in calligraphy. The result producs a color brilliance that seems to glow forth from within the paintings themselves.
Originally hailing from San Francisco, Victoria studied at San Francisco State University, Sacramento State, and the Universite d'Aix-Marseille in Aix-en Provence, France. She graduated with a BA in both Visual Communication and French.
In addition to her fine-art, she is also an animation artist for motion pictures and an award-winning filmmaker. Her film credits include Star Wars Episodes I, II, & VII, The Jungle Book, Pirates of the Caribbean, Happy Feet and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
